CLEANER

Position Title: Cleaner

Classification: General Staff

 

Division: Planning, Safety and Maintenance

Responsible to: The Occupational Health & Safety Officer and is appraised annually by the Director but will be supervised daily by the Occupational Health & Safety Officer

Salary Range: $10,231pa - $13,719pa

Primary Objective: Ensuring all areas that have been assigned are sterilized and cleaned with departmental guidelines. Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, sport cleaning carpets and washing walls, furniture, and fixtures all fall under this category.

RESPONSIBILITIES

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

Maintain and deep cleaning assigned campus facilities such as offices, classrooms, labs, workshop and bathrooms.

Office, Classrooms, workshops, laps and bathrooms are cleaned at all times. Dusting, mopping, wiping, sweeping carry out for all rooms and all surfaces

Dispose trash, waste and other disposable materials from all rooms daily.

Ensure rubbish bins are disposed daily.

Follow instructions on use of chemicals for cleaning.

Wear personal protective equipment and comply with chemical Material Safety Data Sheet.

Refill toilet paper, hand towel, hand soap for all bathrooms when required.

Ensure all are filled at all times and stocks are well maintained.

Assist with preparation and organizing of big events such weddings, seminars, launchings, workshops etc.

Commitment to working after hours and overtime.

Reports maintenance requirements (bathrooms components, offices risk and hazards)

Sanitation report to ensure all risks and hazards are all address.

Maintain regular use of cleaning tools and equipment.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications:

  • Secondary School Graduate or Equivalent

    Experience:

  • Must have at least 2 years of relevant housekeeping/cleaning working experience.

    Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to communicate freely with supervisor, other personnel and students and visitors to the campus both in English and Samoan.
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 30kg
  • Integrity and Hardworking
  • Understanding on cleaning chemicals and safety measures for protection
  • Fully comply with safety personal protective equipment
